June Update

Despite missing some days this month to sickness, I didn’t let it hold me back. The moment I got back to Arohanui, I tried my best to get involved. In the kitchen, I helped bake warm date scones and chocolate self-saucing pudding to share with my friends.

Creativity was everywhere this month. I colored in a Māori pattern, crafted stars for the Matariki tables, and spent quiet moments doing leaf rubbings and drying out flowers for handmade cards. I even supervise my friends building a scarecrow for our garden and beaded string for an art project.

When Greerton came to visit, we had the best time playing cards and singing karaoke, and I made sure to help craft a farewell card for one of their staff members. After all that hard work, treating myself to a foot spa and hand massage in Sensory Explore was the perfect reward. I might have been under the weather for a bit, but I filled the rest of my month with art, kindness, and great company.
